Complete rules and regulations for the NextWave AI Hackathon 2025, including team composition, project requirements, and judging criteria.
Team Requirements
- β’ Teams must consist of 3β5 members
- β’ All members must be employed at Mitra Innovation throughout the event
- β’ Only registered teams and their members may compete
- β’ External advice from mentors and coaches is permitted
Eligibility Restrictions
- β’ No participant may hold a privileged role such as:
- - Organizers
- - Volunteers
- - Judges
- - Organizational sponsors
Code and Reuse Policy
- β’ You may use ideas from past projects
- β’ No re-use of prior code is allowed
- β’ Open-source libraries and APIs are permitted with proper attribution
- β’ You cannot open-source a project just to reuse it
New Contributions
- β’ Only new contributions made during the event count toward judging
- β’ The new contribution must be clearly identified and declared by the team
- β’ Failing to declare new contributions will result in disqualification
- β’ Projects must align with a designated theme or problem statement predefined by the team
- β’ Innovation is valued, but existing ideas or similar solutions are allowed
- β’ Judges' focus will be based on the scoring criteria outlined below
- β’ Final submissions require a demo β show what works, even if incomplete
- β’ Pitches are secondary to the demonstration
- β’ Demonstrating what you learned β even from a non-functional prototype β is encouraged
Participation Requirements
- β’ No additional time or extensions will be provided for any team
- β’ At least one team member must be presenting at each qualified round
- β’ All teams must participate in every round until they no longer qualify
- β’ No skipping rounds is allowed
Evaluation Process
- β’ No "hacking" will be done during the evaluation rounds
- β’ Teams must be ready to present their work as-is during evaluation
Expected Behavior
- β’ Participants must uphold respect, inclusivity, and professionalism
- β’ Harassment or discrimination is grounds for removal and formal inquiry
Prohibited Actions
- β’ Cheating, plagiarism, or unfair practices will result in immediate disqualification
- β’ Any form of unsportsmanlike behavior
Disqualification Grounds
- β’ Rule breaches
- β’ Code of Conduct violations
- β’ Cheating or plagiarism
- β’ Unsportsmanlike behavior
Final Authority
- β’ Decisions by judges or organizers are final
- β’ This includes all arbitration matters
- β’ No appeals process is available
Liability
- β’ Code,IP,Product and Other ownerships will be as per the clauses stated in the Mitra Innovation employment contract or agreement.
- β’ No liability for organizers or sponsors regarding:
- - Injuries
- - Equipment issues
- - Other incidents
Consent and Usage Rights
- β’ Participants provide consent for usage of:
- - Photos and videos
- - Project details and presentations
- - Demo and code
- β’ For promotional and sales purposes
Each category is scored out of 5 points. Total possible score: 50 points

Infusion and Maturity, Data handling and processing

Is the data readily available? How is it analysed to derive insights? Can the desired outcome be achieved with business value?

Functionality, Completeness, Clarity, Impact, Attention to aesthetics, interaction and user interface

How much we love and are excited about the idea? How original is the idea?

Total Score
Average score will be calculated from all judges
β’ Teams must consist of 3-5 Mitra Innovation employees
β’ No reuse of prior code - only new contributions count
β’ Clearly identify and declare all new contributions
β’ Demo is required - show what works, even if incomplete
β’ At least one team member must present at each qualified round
β’ All decisions by judges and organizers are final
β’ Violation of rules or code of conduct results in disqualification
